In today's blog we are gonna talk about how to meditate, because what i honestly feels is that even from a health and fitness perspective, today's blog is that one blog which will definitely turn your life around.what i honestly feel is that meditation has a very crucial to play in the journey to reaching your maximum potential . Alot of successful people all over the world Steve jobs ,Hugh Jackman and even Shane watson have turned to meditation in order to enhance the rest of their lifes.
so i am going over the benefits of meditation super briefly.UCLA shows that the people who meditate have a higher level of GYRIFICATION.

Gyrification means the folds of the cortex in your brain, the more folds you will have  more faster will be your processing power, you will specially become smarter and your brain will work faster and actively through meditation. The long term meditation leads to more gyrification, more you meditate more your gyrification and more your processing power, so essentially you think of meditation as some kind of brain workout, where you can enhance poer of brain by meditating for just ten to twenty minutes per day.
study's have shown that
meditation has increased the size of those parts that are link with
-HAPPINESS
-FOCUS
-MEMORY FORMATION
-LEARNING ABILITY
-ABILITY TO EMPATHIZE

what is even cooler is that meditation reduces:-
-STRESS
-ANXIETY
-FEAR
-DEPRESSION
-SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE

                Why one should meditate?

So one should meditate for 10-20 minutes everyday.just like gyming this is one of those things for which you have to create a habit to see the results. The actual benefit of meditation, this increased level of happiness will only happen after you meditate every single day.Meditation will help you handle all the situations in your life bravely..

Here are some of the benefits of meditation:
  1. Improved concentration – A clear mind makes you more productive, especially in creative disciplines like writing.
  2. Less bothered by little things – Do you sometimes allow yourself to get upset by little things? It is the nature of the mind to magnify small things into serious problems. Meditation helps us to detach from those worries. We learn to live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the past or future. We do not worry about meaningless things.
  3. Better Health – There have been numerous studies pointing to the health benefits of meditation. The reason is that meditation reduces stress levels and alleviates anxiety.
  4. Knowledge of Self – Meditation enables us to have a deeper understanding of our inner self. Through meditation we can gain a better understanding of our life’s purpose.

How to meditate?

So meditation is very subjective concept, i am not a yogi but i do promise you if you will follow the guidelines and meditate everyday you will make a difference to your life . so theoretical definition of meditation is that it disconnects , people say when you meditate you just disconnect yourself from the world and don't think about anyone just concentrate on your own breadth, for an average person it is hard to do,obviously you will gonna have lots of thoughts in your head, what you need to understand is that it is completely normal human nature

1.sit down in a quit place ideally in a complete darkness and fold your legs sit crossleged and you just keep your arms comfortably lying on your knees.you can even sit down on a chair if you find it comfortable and there you can begin your meditation process.
mindfull meditation is you taking a deep breaths you inhale completely and exhale just FOCUS ONLY ON YOUR OWN BREATH. consciously try to focus on your breath.distractions are normal but try your best. you can start with doing it about 10 minutes a day.but the key is to get yourself to doing this, everytime you open your eyes after meditation session i promise to you you will be alot calmer and the world will feel different.what i just spoke about is something that called MINDFULNESS MEDITATION.
2.So what i believe is that for beginner's it is difficult to do mindfulness meditation, meditation that i practice is called OM CHANTING MEDITATION.

Now this has nothing to do with Hinduism or all gods or all religion, what you have to understand is that om is kind of tangible distraction for your mind when you are chanting om it helps you to disconnect from real life , that's all it is. so to perform om chanting meditation you again have to sit down in a quit place ideally in a complete darkness and fold your legs sit cross-legged and you just keep your arms comfortably lying on your knees.than take a deep breath and when breath out chant om. so for 75%of your breath you will chant "o" and for 25% you will chant "m",that's all you have to remember.once again do not worry about the technique , its not about how you sit how you chant it, its just about consistently doing this for 10-20 minutes a day is what matters.mediation is just an another way for releasing feel god hormones, after you will make it you habbit it will become a source of recreation in your life.

Just remember one thing you have to make it your habit. That's all you need to do!!

  1. How meditation is different from relaxation, thinking and concentration?

    1. Relaxation:
Relaxation is a common by-product of meditation. Relaxation itself can assume many forms, such as taking a hot bath or reclining in the Lazy-boy and watching tv, etc. Meditation is an active process where the meditator remains fully aware of what the awareness is doing. It also attempts to transcend the thought process whereas many forms of relaxation still engage the thought process. Meditation allows the body to relax and can offset the effects of stress both mentally and physically to a potentially much greater degree than passive relaxation.

      Thinking:
Thoughts generally consume energy in the process of their formation. Constant thought-activity, especially of random nature, can tire the mind and even bring on headache. Meditation attempts to transcend this crude level of thought activity. Through regular practice one becomes aware that they are not their thoughts but that there is an awareness that exists independent of thought. Descartes (“I think, therefore I am”) obviously was not a regular meditator!

      Concentration:
Meditation begins with concentration, but after an initial period of concentration, thought activity decreases and keeping the awareness focused becomes more spontaneous. At this point the person may or may not continue to employ the object of concentration.
